Asifa-the name of an 8 year old Indian girl who was kidnapped and raped by three men for being part of a Muslim tribe. The dominating Indian political party known as “BJP” chose to support the men behind this crime simply because those men were Hindus. Asifa’s lawyer (a Hindu woman) continues to get blackmailed for fighting her case. While we usually celebrate the accomplishments of women around the world, today we mourn over Asifa’s death and honor her lawyer for continuing to represent Asifa. This is another reminder that justice must be right regardless or religion or gender. #wecareforasifa
