Hernias and Strokes

For our first meeting we discussed the following question:
A patient needs to undergo a procedure for a hernia 3 months after having a stroke. When should he/she/they be treated (if at all)?
To answer this question we had everyone at the meeting do their own research and worked together to critically analyze studies and sources to answer this question. After, we held a group discussion and share our findings before finally discussing a recently published study that is being adopted by many medical institutions:
